Pushkar is a desert town which is also a place of religious importance. Apart from this, the town is known for many things like its Camel Fair. Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake for Hindus and its history can be traced back to the 4^th Century BC. Its banks also serve as the location for the famous Camel Carnival of Pushkar. A place of tranquillity in the mornings, it transforms into a magical sight in the evenings when the aarti is performed in its banks. Man Mahal, situated close to the Pushkar Sarovar should not be missed.  Pushkar is famous for its temples. The Brahma Temple is a major attraction. In India, it one the most prominent temple dedicated to Lord Brahma and has numerous legends associated with it. Other temples that we will trail are Savitri temple, situated on top of a hill and providing a bird’s eye view of the whole town. The Pap Mochani Temple is also situated on a hilltop and provides a picturesque view of the town along with the lake. Legend has it that Pushkar was a temple town with over 500 temples. Many have been destroyed during Islamic invasion but the remaining ones still capture the essence of the bygone days. Merta, a nearby town, is famous for its Meera Bai connection. This city happens to be the birthplace of legendary Krishna devotee – Meera Bai. Merta is the famous Meera Temple. Pushkar is known for its rose farming. So without a visit to the rose gardens, a trip to Pushkar is incomplete. A tranquil, peaceful area filled with the sweet aroma of the roses offers a unique experience. Sarafa Bazar and Bada Bazar are famous as shopping hubs in Pushkar where one can find items that can be taken back home as souvenirs from the trip.
